Copy Writer – Johannesburg
Come join a travel company, writing creative copies of travels & lodges. We need a passionate and driven individual who will elevate our copy both strategically and creatively.
The ability to write and edit copy in many forms while keeping to the integrity of the brand: brochures, website copy, itineraries, newsletters, etc.
The ability to work with Brand Managers to source information about the destinations we operate in and translate it into original and fresh copy for various forms of communication.
Create SEO-optimised copy for the website
Write copy for targeted electronic newsletters to guests and trade partners.
Ensure the ongoing consistency of branding and wording.
Copywriting or journalism qualification
Additional experience in Travel & Tourism, Conservation or Sustainability an advantage.
Exceptional writing and communication skills – non-negotiable
At least 3 years’ experience in copywriting, preferably as part of an in-house copywriting team.
Experience with writing for a variety of marketing purposes, including digital space and public relations.
Awareness of basic SEO writing principles.
Demonstrable competencies such as teamwork, creative problem solving, flexibility, results-driven, interpersonal skills (written, oral, listening, influencing).
Communication - excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to get the message across by adopting a range of styles, tools and techniques appropriate to the audience and nature of the information.
Meticulous attention to detail – Ability to retain focus on the details while writing about an extensive portfolio of products.
Influencing and persuading - able to present sound and well-reasoned arguments in a persuasive manner.
Planning and organization - able to think ahead and prioritise activities.
Resilience - strong ability to cope under pressure.
