Our client is searching for a talented Executive Chef for their safari lodge in Tanzania.

The position requires the successful candidate to be able to work under pressure, understand challenges of working remotely, ability to be alone for extended periods of time.

Must have excellent leadership skills, strong management and organisational skills, and most importantly a passion for food and the food experience! A formal Chefs qualification is required, along with at least 5 years Chef experience in 5 star properties or lodges and at least 2 years as an Executive Chef. International exposure is a plus!


Kitchen management – including kitchen administration, general hygiene and people management Budget management Hospitality knowledge


Formal Chef’s Qualification At least 5+ years Chef Experience required in 5 star properties or lodges and 2 years as an executive chef International exposure is a plus


Excellent Spoken and written English Computer literate Passion for food and the food experience. Standard of your work must exceed the standard of the lodge Ability to take initiative, ability to think and act creatively within a team and on the go Leadership – must lead the kitchen team effectively. The ability to motivate staff to consistently deliver extra ordinary guest experiences within a very challenging environment Strong management and organisational skills Good knowledge of hospitality operations including butler service Communication skills - with guests and fellow staff members.
