Our client, a very well-known safari company in Botswana, is searching for a Lodge Management Couple for their stunning lodge in Botswana.
The ideal candidates will be able to ensure the smooth running of the lodge in all areas from guest experience to staff and administration.
If you both have a guiding, hospitality or food and beverage management qualification, with at least 6 years minimum previous operational experience at a 5-star management level, with a passion and yearning for the bush, please apply!
Your main responsibilities and duties collectively as a management couple will be:
Ensure the smooth running of the lodge in all areas from guest experience, to staff and admin. Meeting guest needs at all times and dealing with guest requests. Checking menus and assisting with menu planning. Monthly stock takes of food and beverage and orders. Continual monitoring of service standards. Continuous service training with staff on standards and fine dining. Ensure staff are meeting our minimum requirements. Monitoring of Spa staff in all aspects of their job. Helping the environmentalist control grounds men and ensure that grounds are kept in the condition expected. Keeping the maintenance manager updated as to any maintenance issues in camp. Overseeing maintenance staff in camp. Ensure that all tents and main public areas are maintained aesthetically and functional. Ensuring that the curio shop is kept clean and tidy. Updating wages and salaries sheets. Monitor and control all staff welfare issues. Enforcing all company policy and procedures. Control and issue of housekeeping stocks and storerooms. To conduct thorough site inspections to travel trade.
Your required Qualifications & Experience:
Guiding or Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management qualification A minimum of 6 years’ previous Operational experience at Management Level within a 5* luxury environment is essential International experience will be advantageous Proven experience in coordinating, managing & motivating a highly diverse compliment of staff The ability to maximise staff performance through training & coaching Flexibility and ability to work long hours & shifts The ability to work in a highly pressurised work environment
