The Crawford & Carruthers Story

Crawford & Carruthers was born of a simple observation, made well away from fluorescent lighting: the finest hospitality in the world is built by people who know their craft — and practice it without fuss. From our earliest days, we’ve concerned ourselves with introducing such individuals to the places that truly warrant them, whether that be a lodge at the end of a red-dust track, a storied hotel, or an island best reached with patience and good shoes.
 

What began as a boutique search practice has since wandered — deliberately, not hurriedly — across Africa, the Middle East, the Americas, Asia, and the Indian Ocean. Growth followed trust, not trends. And while the scenery has changed, our essentials have not: meticulous search, meaningful partnerships, and a healthy suspicion of shortcuts masquerading as innovation.
 

For almost two decades, we’ve kept company with pioneering hotel groups, legendary safari operators, private estates, island sanctuaries, and independent custodians of remarkable guest experiences. Their trust is our inheritance. Their success remains our compass — and, we’re pleased to report, it has rarely led us astray.
